In an era of cool, Bobby Darin was the soundtrack. Darin was one of the most popular rock and roll teen idols of the late ‘50s, with his career taking off in 1958 when he wrote and recorded ‘Splish Splash,” selling more than a million copies. Other hits followed including “Dream Lover” and "Beyond The Sea." Propelled by the success of “Mack the Knife," he broke attendance records at the legendary Copacabana, surpassing Frank Sinatra.
