Originally created as a custom, full-length Broadway musical production for a Fortune 500 company which premiered at Tampa’s Straz Center For The Performing Arts (one of the most prominent major performing arts centers in the Country for National Tours direct from Broadway) and has been touring since 2006, the production has been hailed as “The most beloved musical moments in Broadway history meet ‘A Night At The Museum” by the Tampa Tribune. “Powerful, poignant, at times hilarious and always charming – all our favorite Broadway icons are here – Phantom, Elphaba, Dorothy, Eliza Doolittle, Sky Masterson, Eva Peron, Billy Flynn, Jekyll (and Hyde), Nellie Forebush, Annie Oakley and so many more” raves Stage Directions Magazine.
It’s the night before the grand opening of a traveling “75 Years of Broadway” wax museum exhibit in Manhattan – eerily similar to the world famous Madame Tussaud’s. As the show begins, we meet a hapless, but lovable overnight museum custodian who is putting the finishing touches of cleaning the main room of the exhibit – which features statues of the most iconic Broadway musical characters in history prominently on display. As the evening progresses, either magic happens or our lovable hero finds himself on the brink of insanity as he never finds the room – or especially the wax figures quite the same way as he previously left them. Throughout the night, audiences are let in on the secret and are taken on a remarkable journey unlike any other Broadway musical revue they have ever encountered.
BROADWAY IN CONCERT features a retrospective montage of Broadway’s greatest hits. From classics “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Fiddler On The Roof,” “My Fair Lady” and “Chicago” to modern day musical phenomenons including “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Miserables,” “Wicked,” “Rent” and so many more, all your favorites are here.
BROADWAY IN CONCERT was originally created by American Concert Company – a predecessor of Mathews Entertainment.
